Firstly, a comment on our government:
"Stupidity has a knack of getting its way" - Albert Camus
And secondly, a comment on our opposition:
I shall be voting for Jeremy Corbyn again. I acknowledge that he is the wrong man for the job, but Owen Smith - who I freely confess that I had never heard of until a couple of weeks ago - has done one thing that means I can't vote for him. He has announced the policies he would introduce were he elected. I do not want a leader who decides on policy; I want a leader who will champion and implement the policies decided on by the Labour Party. So do the majority of party members, and that, above all else, is why Corbyn will be re-elected.
Oh boy.
ReplyDeleteJeremy Corbyn - the best Prime Minister we never had ! , Tony
ReplyDeleteWe seem to be in thrall to 'leaders' ever since the great 'Leaderene' Herself was on the throne. We have trouble recognising that there are different approaches to leadership.
ReplyDeletePolitically, I've always been left of centre and have had my doubts about out and out socialism, so I'm a little unsure about Corbyn. But, probably the best recommendation for Jezza seems to be the fact there's been a concerted campaign, first by the media, and latterly by elements of the Labour Party to denigrate him (and even spread smears about him and his supporters). I don't for one minute believe any of the claims of intimidation - Corbyn doesn't need to do anything of the sort to win. It'd be pretty easy for anyone to lob a brick through a constituency office window and claim it was the other lot.
I have a link to an interesting blog post on this subject, but can't work out how to post it here. I'll put it in the main blog.
