Happy New Year to you all.
Over at Palouse Wargaming Journal there was a recent post, itself in answer to a post somewhere else, about the possible causes of a perceived general drop off in the frequency of posts on wargaming blogs. Now, if there's one thing I know something about it's not posting very often on my blog. I can't speak for all the other slackers, but in my case this time it has been a touch of the old force majeure. Wargaming in the Lower Wharfe Valley, or at least those games from which your bloggist has not long been blackballed, has been suspended sine die recently due to events, dear boy, events. The one aspect of this state of affairs attributable to me - there was a bit of a perfect storm of contributing factors - was a decision to have my bathroom done up. I had to move out and, quelle surprise, it took much longer than it should have been before I was able to move back in. In the unlikely event that any readers have been with me since the very beginning of the blog, it was very reminiscent of the peripatetic life that I used to lead in those days. However, I have now been able to quit imposing myself on the kindness of various occasional companions and am returned, raring to go. Prepare yourselves for a torrent of posts. Perhaps.
Among my travels I did a bit of walking north of the border, only to discover that Scotland in January is both cold and windy. Who knew? I did visit Dundee for the the first time in my life and will leave you with a picture of me and that city's most famous son. I'm on the left.
